These two paintings represent some of the many interesting Halifax items in this summer's auction.
The first is a wonderful rendition of Halifax including George's Island, the Citadel, the Harbour, Dartmouth and the North West Arm painted from McNabs Island by Forshaw Day in 1862.
The second, from the same period as the first item, is "Shipping in the Harbour" by Dusan Kadlec. It shows a bustling harbour with Halifax in the background.
